    Default Sharpe's back on TV!

9 o'clock tonight on ITV, first part of an all-new Sharpe!

Waterloo last week, Cromwell the week before, Went the Day Well the week before that, whats with something decent to watch on TV for a change?

2nd part tomorrow night, 3 hours of Sharpey goodness!!

I'll probly tape it as I hope to be listening to game 2 of Oilers v Wings over t'internet this evening.
"I request permanent reassignment to the Gallic frontier. Nay, I demand reassignment. Perhaps it is improper to say so, but I refuse to fight against the Greeks or Macedonians any more. Give my command to another, for I cannot, I will not, lead an army into battle against a civilized nation so long as the Gauls survive. I am not the young man I once was, but I swear before Jupiter Optimus Maximus that I shall see a world without Gauls before I take my final breath."

I will be watching mate , can't wait for Sharpes challenge. Hopefully the battles will be better than the last sharpe episodes. I hear there is a great line from Bean in this where someone says "Sharpe are you going to defeat this massive rebellion?"

Sharpe replies "Well there's no other bugger going to!" Pure greatness with plenty of arses going to be kicked no doubt

    Cannot wait!

    *Digs out 95th Rifles uniform*
Is Harper going to be in it still?
    When I was a child
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown,
    The dream is gone.
    I have become comfortably numb...

Harper is over in India and gets captured, cue Wellington telling Sharpe and sharpe headinf for India with rifle in hand, probably not in green but red uniform and kicking everyone around with war cries and gun shots. Sharpe was only tv series i knew that saw a grown man collasping after a kick to the backside with scores of French soldiers fleeing through fear of being kicked in the jacksie by Richard Sharpre

It should be good, though in the books he never goes back to India.

Yeah they have used characters such as william dodd from truimph and fortress in these new programs played by toby stephens. I don't mind though as long as they are good and not as dismal as the makers attempt at sharpes gold which was pure rubbish

Gotta agree there, Sharpe's Gold was a great book, but the tv version was....aweful.

Of course, salman rushdie (sp) wife is playing the main love item and i must say she looks very sweet indeed

What a breath of fresh air. Better budget, better acting and simmerson and dodd were wonderful bad guys. All in all, quality

It was very good, even though it was just the first three books merged together and some of the character where a bit different.

It was very good, even though it was basically Sharpe's Tiger.

Not Really, It had Chasalgaon from Triumph, Dodd from Triumph and Fortress, but yes, the basic storyline was Tiger
