I'm torn over Ox's injury. Part of me thinks Arsenal players should, at this point, just refuse to play in international friendlies, while the other part says this kept him safe from the ACL tear/broken leg that was definitely going to happen in the group stage against Uruguay.

Good news for the Arsenal. He can get a well deserved rest and a unhindered pre-season. England will be out soon enough, with or without his help.

    Ribery is out as well.

    And Ronaldo is still doubtfull.

Zlatan is going to be right, a World Cup without him is going to be boring.

When Sweden didn't make the cut, Zlatan said that it would be a boring world cup.

More bad news for anyone who likes to watch the magic players, Reus out as well.
Better news, Diego Costa deemed fit by Del Bosque. Speaking of Spain I wonder where Fabregas will end up.

Edit: Suarez seems to make it as well.

I really dislike the friendlies before the World Cups, even if they're useful - too many injuries.

Well that's the fault of the club-level competitions mostly. The more successful teams play up to around 70 games in a year, which is insane. And player who go to the world cup even don't get a decent rest afterwards and can go on again, making it even worse.

    Champions League group draw set:
    1. Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Olympiakos, Malmo
    2. Real Madrid, Basel, Liverpool, Ludogorets
    3. Benfica, Zenit, Leverkusen, Monaco
    4. Arsenal, Dortmund, Galatasaray, Anderlecht
    5. Bayern Munich, CSKA Moscow, Man City, Roma
    6. Barcelona, PSG, Ajax, APOEL
    7. Chelsea, Schalke, Sporting, Maribor
    8. Porto, Shakhtar, Athletic Bilbao, BATE

The end to that Ludogorets-Bucharest match was a bit on the wow side.

It kind of left me blank faced, I pretty much had no reaction to it because of the utter irony of what happened - a Romanian defender, who played for years for the bitter rivals of Steaua, knocks them out of the Champions League after penalties.

Always nice to see a new team in the Champions League, I think they could pick up a few points in that group, and might even sneak 3rd with a bit of luck.

Ajax rescued a good draw with PSG, was almost 2-1 if it wasn't for Sirigu's save.

    Borussia was fantastic.

Transfer period back on, some interesting deals to be had for Premier League sides - getting into the final push for European places.

On a side note, Stevie Gerrard is leaving Liverpool.

As always, a hotly contested match between Atletico and Real. A lot of crunching tackles and to the limit football. (+ Juve and Monaco battling it out)

    PSG - Barca coming up...

And Porto hoping to spring a surprise.
