Apparently Flamini will stay at Arsenal if we match the 144k a week that Milan have offered him. On your bike, son.

On a more positive note, check out this clip of a player Wenger reckons is the future. Wilshere, the boy in question, is the number 10. I know you can't base anything on snippets from a single match, but Wenger is quite good at this sort of thing, and he does look extremely tasty. The left-footed curler reminds me of videos I've seen of Liam Brady.

Preparing to follow the "football of fear"...

    Fulham - Birmingham City

Which way will it go? Surely they won't doom each other by daring to draw, will
    they?

Oh, and I'm fully expecting West Ham to lie down for the Mancs, especially after
Curbishley so astutely observed in the days leading up to his team's game at Old
Trafford that it would be an injustice for the Red Sox not to win the title. Prat.

West ham have been a bogey team fo United over the years so the west ham game is the main worry.

Fulham to win 2-1 or 3-2....

I don't have West Brom's great escape stats to hand, but if Fulham survive it
must rank somewhere up there, no? More so considering the fact that they
hadn't won back-to-back away games for four years, and then they pull off that
    comeback against Man City.

In any case, it's astonishing, and if they stay up now, I think they'd just about
deserve it. I wonder if parachute payments will be enough to convince Big Eck
that he was right to turn his back on Scotland now.

Blimey, sqweekybum time all season, but we're safe at last.

    Now for next season.

    Drama down in fizzpop today.

Southampton have come from behind against Sheffield United and are
currently making a last-minute escape from the drop into the third tier,
while Leicester City are taking their place as they are drawing with
Stoke City. Leicester have just failed to score the critical goal from a
good old scramble in front of the goal.

Watford are thankfully capitulating against Blackpool, and so are finally
dropping out of the play-off places, as they deserve to, having been
absolutely shocking for months. And Watford have just equalised.

Edit: West Bromwich Albion are crowned Champions of fizz, after
beating new Billionaire Plaything, and next season's kings of pop, QPR.

Stoke City [stylistically the new Watford] are up.

    Play-offs: Hull City - Watford
    Bristol City - Crystal Palace

Leicester City go down to fizz league one, formerly officially known
    as Land of the Giants.

Liverpool winning the league? That'd be the year after they lost the title with
the last kick of the season. Oh, for a title race that good. Instead we're on
the edge of our seats wondering whether a Steve Bruce side will roll over for
    the Mancs.

Thought it worth a mention [despite admittedly not posting about the Croatian
player who was killed a while back] that François Sterchele, a striker for Club
Brugge, and leading scorer in the Belgian top flight last season, died this morning.

I did not like him in the beginning....by now me thinks he is a veeeery good player. I am no Bayern fan, but this team is looking pimped to me by now. Toni, Ribery, Gattuso....Watch out CL 2008/2009....[well, at least until they meet an English team]

Rosicky's out of Euro 2008. Due for surgery. Hope he comes back from this,
    but I don't see it.

Oh, and Man City look set to qualify for Europe [intertoto?] via the fairplay
league. If they don't get any cards against Boro, they're as good as there.
If they do, their place could be taken by Everton, but if Everton are already
qualified and Man City go hacking Boro to pieces, Fulham will be in Europe.

Edit: Thank-you for drawing my attention to this, Subedei. Now it seems I
have yet another reason to dislike Bayern.

Good business by Milan. Gattuso has been a shadow of his former self this season, and is only going to get worse. His game is all about chasing down and harrying everything, which obviously requires great endurance-something that's starting to go now he's getting old. He hasn't got the kind of tactical and positional nous that allows Makelele to still play at the highest level.
