    Default Persia

The official thread will be used to add more information about the faction.

For now you can post anything you find useful including ideas for faction specific buildings, events, advisors etc MILITARY UNITS EXCLUDED - that is well researched and only later we will possibly need more details.

Hi! Hope things are going well, although their doesnt seem to be that much activity.

I found this site with pictures of the entire Safavid and Afsharid army, and I wish I had these pictures when I was doing research for PMTW last year.

    http://badraie.com/sarbaz.htm

The pictures are towards the bottum of the screen.

    Thanks!

Finishing the last edition of the MTW VI project takes some time...
But the AI is better, cavalry can be dismounted and I can add up to 1100 new units so it is worth some effort.

The link doesn't work for me - can you post the images if you actually CAN open it ?

Didn' want to make a new topic about it.

Have you guys considered making a faction for the Afghans, or would they fit under rebels? I understand that their importance got much larger as the English came, but I believe they were involved in the politics of Iran, Central Asia, and India. Were they under the sovereignty of the Mughals, or the Iranians? Or too disunited to be made into a faction?

Ive proposed beforehand that they be included mainly as warriors that serve both the Mughals and the Safavids, since they wern't really an indipendant nation until the Afsharids in the 1730's under Nadir Shah and his successors. But it is a good point that you bring up, we must not forget them. They were expert gurellas and cavaliers and in fact, Babur Shah, was an Afghan, and most of the Mughal athority was derived from Afghan warriors.

Well their representation in the Mughal and Safavid faction rosters sounds like the best solution, given their difficulty at representation prior to that. Good to know they'll have some coverage.

I'm curious to know how the Safavids and Mughal's fought. I wouldn't want to bog down this topic with it, but is there any sites you'd suggest? Sorry to bring it off topic a little.
