Court Rules: Can't Fire Workers for Being Drunk

LIMA (Reuters) - Peru's top court has ruled that workers cannot be fired for being drunk on the job, a decision that was criticized by the government on Wednesday for setting a dangerous precedent.

The Constitutional Tribunal ordered that Pablo Cayo be given his job back as a janitor for the municipality of Chorrillos, which fired him for being intoxicated at work.

The firing was excessive because even though Cayo was drunk, he did not offend or hurt anybody, Fernando Calle, one of the justices, said on Wednesday.

Calle said the court would not revise its decision, despite complaints from the government.

According to New Jersey police, the state's Division of Youth and Family Services took Adolf and his two sisters, one-year-old Joyce Lynn Aryan Nation Campbell and 8-month-old Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, from their parents' home Tuesday night.

Little Hilter and his parents got their first fifteen minutes of fame after a New Jersey supermarket refused to put his name on a birthday cake.

The Mass Communication Department of Providence University opened the course this semester, reports United Daily News.
To pass the course, students must give a 15 minute presentation in which they analyse an audience's psychological reaction to a porn clip from an academic perspective.

Goat hangs itself in Calgary zoo

Calgary Zoo is one exotic goat short of an Arkful after a Turkmenian markhor "accidentally hanged itself" over the weekend. According to Reuters, local television carried a shock report into the incident, featuring amateur video showing the caprine corpse "hanging lifeless from a rope in its enclosure".

The zoo claims the victim "became entangled in an enrichment toy that had been in the exhibit for several years", specfically a "a ball on the end of a rope", as Reuters puts it. While the video footage did show keepers "trying to resuscitate the animal", the zoo has rather suspiciously still not explained the mysterious death of 41 stingrays in May last year.

Blow-up doll sex suspect arrested

Police in Australia have arrested a man accused of breaking into an adult shop and having sex with blow-up dolls, it was reported Wednesday.

The 23-year-old allegedly broke into the Laneway Adult Shop in the northen Australian city of Cairns on several occasions, having sex with a doll named "Jungle Jane," the Cairns Post reported.

It earlier quoted the store's owner saying the burglar always cleaned up after himself, but the dolls were dumped unceremoniously in an alleyway behind the store.

"He has been taking the dolls out the back and blowing them up and using the dolls and leaving them in the alley," he said. "It is totally bizarre."

Florida man arrested for the 190th time

A 46-year-old man has been arrested 190 times in Florida, most recently for carjacking, police say. Police in Boca Raton, Fla., said Henry Farrell was arrested this week for allegedly attempting to steal a truck from an unidentified man, the Palm Beach (Fla.) Post said Thursday. Police spokeswoman Sandra Boonenberg said the arrest of Farrell following Tuesday night's theft did not mark anything new for area police. [...]

Boonenberg added that Farrell, whose first arrest came when he was 20, has been arrested in 12 Florida counties. Charges against Farrell have ranged from Tuesday's additional charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia to a grand theft charge from Jan. 8.
