Argh, this installation takes a long time. It's still only halfway through the copying of new files. XD

    Who needs Christmas anyway?

I'll save you some bandwidth and try to finish my current campaign and download 1.0 a few days later. If I can...

I have had these problems before. Ultimately, I had to install Rome on another computer, and there patch it up to 1.3 and then 1.5, and then copy it back to my computer again.

Anyone who got a smoother solution is welcome to help.

Thankfully I didn't have to resort to that. I found the solution in a thread in the general RTW forum: http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=84841

For some reason I had to rename the folder of the installer. So now I can go play EB1

How long is it taking to extract on average? I'm running a 2.8GHz with 1.5GB of RAM to cache and it's been like 10+ minutes still on 30%... I don't know if it's uber-compressed, bad algorithm, or if I broke it :)

    edit:
OOOOOO THAT'S WHY! It is still uncompressing to standard C:\ directory. I thought after 0.81 you guys were going to fix this. Crap... now I have to someone manage to free up 2GB on a full partition with nothing but Windows and patches. I can say I love you guys but I really hate the installer :(

Wow. Just wow. Think back to a few years ago: who could have ever guessed a product like EB could ever exist? I want to give a huge thank you to the team for making the BEST computer game I have ever played by far. You guys worked incredibly hard, surmounted near-impossible challenges, and often only to be greeted by a barrage of complaints over animation bugs, stat errors or even CTD's. Well now it's done. EB 1.0 is done, and already EB is many times the game RTW was.

I am soooo grateful to the whole EB team: thank you very much for this incredible game, and I look forward immensely to the next releases!

Brilliant, thanks guys. I'm glad I woke up a bit early this morning.
I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to torrents, to keep seeding do I simply need to keep the file on my PC after it downloads and keep utorrent open?

Despite good efforts I can't free up enough space on C: to install it. Could anyone be cool enough to compress the EB post-installed folder into a ZIP or RAR and stick it somewhere?
