My parents are both rather geographically ignorant. I've had to remind her twice that Tunisia (where one of my friends has gone on an exchange) is in Africa, not Europe as she keeps saying.

I can't actually watch the videos at the moment because I'm running at dial up speed but we have a program here called "Are you smarter than a 10 year old?" and my parents and youngest brother watch it. They always struggle with anything geography or history related. One time they had an argument about when the World War I ended and so came over to ask me to try and beat the contestants to figuring out the answer (no, I don't know why ). When I said November 11 1918 they didn't believe me until the answer was shown.

Although on the NZ show the kids are really rich kids and most of them rather arrogant and went to private schools etc. so of course they make average people look stupid.

I must confess that I have not watched the vids that have been linked in this thread. But I do know the ones that they go on about.

Often they are edited to make you look silly and also many of the people are not all that well educated as well.

In saying that some of the stupidest people I have met were at University.

Now my beautiful gf (bless her) has the most appalling sence of direction and I am not surprised that she does not know the location of many countries. Some alot larger than others (ha ha).

But get her on a topic that interets her then "boom" her knowledge blows mine out of the water.

Who is stupid now? - or is it more just whose interest is geography/history/politics/cars/animals/etc and what is the topic of the question?
