As they have no armour, means they can be easily killed by pilums, you shoudnt use them in first line, etc. Usually best way is to engage enemy with them on flanks once battle started (first lines already fighting). That will provide excelent morale "bonus" to enemy, and berserkers will do quite well in hand-to-hand combat. At least I did so....
As you can see I thought you meant how do they go berserk in the first place, not strategies for them. My apologies.

when i play online i normaly use berserkers to attack there general in the back and then when other troops help him then i send in gothic horses to swamp them.

Welcome to the .Org georgeman51
I use beserkers in a similar way to Charge, using them as flankers rather than frontline troops. Their morale penalty to their foes can also be useful in dealing with troops which just need an extra push to start wavering.
As Charge has said, they are vulnerable to missiles, so I stock up a couple of fast cavalry units to deal with such units in a hit and run attack if and when I encounter them. I also use a couple of normal infantry units to protect the beserker's flanks while they fight - when in their beserk mode they cannot be commanded to stop hunting for their current target and turn around to deal with another attacker.Might I request that thread bumping is avoided. Thread bumping simply for the sake of thread bumping is classed as unconstructive posting, so may result in thread closure.Originally Posted by georgeman51

Cheeky.

Yeah, berserkers do scare enemy infantry. Nothing much to say that hasn't already been said-- keep away from missile troops, have a fast-moving support unit, use as flankers, etcetera.

Can we avoid spamming/bumping please georgeman51. Threads do gradually die and lose significance over time as new ones are created. Its a natural process on any active forum.
