    Default English Question

You outsiders there have an idiom such as "pee race" ?

We got the exact idiom in Turkish which refers to somehow apparently immature/childish competition of knowledge/power/whatever etc. between two (or more) people.

Some Turkish guy claims that he had seen the one-on-one translation, used as "pee race" among you English-speakers too.

Is that it ? Does English have the exact idiom of "pee race" ?

Yep, that would be what you are looking for if you want something that talks about two people who are having an immature competition that really has no purpose.

Although, ya gotta admit "pee race" conjures up an much funnier image.

"Pissing contest" pictures two 8year olds urinating on the side of a barn to see who can wet higher. Quaint.

"Pee race" however, evokes 2 kids running a 100 yard dash with their boyhoods hanging out, spraying hither and yon furiously, as they race to the finish line. Hilarious!

I look forward to using "pee race" wherever I can, in conversation.
Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.

There are some fine examples of the expression in the BackRoom "US Elections 2008" thread...

User CP -> Group Memberships -> Backroom. That lets you see it.

Basically it is the political and religious forum of the Org.
