Buffy Season 1, Episode 5: Guest Lecture

Buffy and Willow are standing on UC-Sunnydale's campus, reading a note posted on the door of one of the halls.

Willow:Reading Due to the absence of most of the student body and professors, your regularly-scheduled classes are canceled until further notice. Instead we will be having a series of guest lectures. Tonight's will be given by Renata, who has come to town to speak about the merits of Professional graduate degrees, such as J.D.s, M.Ds, and M.B.A.s

Buffy: Who cares about graduate school. At this rate, we won't even have to worry about finals. Besides, I've already got a profession: Slayer. It doesn't leave much time for anything else.

Wilow: No, we should go. I remember a Slayer once said that being a Slayer wasn't a profession, it was who you were, a calling. Besides, its only supposed to be half an hour. 11:30 tonight.

Buffy: Fine, I'll be there, unless hell should bar the way.

Buffy and Willow head off as a full moon is framed by the buildings behind them. Cue opening credits.

Buffy and Willow enter and take their seats in a large lecture hall. It is vacant except for them, a professor at Renata

Professor: Um.. uh.. Thank you all for coming. Now it is my great pleasure to introduce Renata, who I'm sure has done some great and important things ... Screw it, I'm getting out of here.

Professor runs out of the hall. Shortly thereafter, we hear the sound of a car pulling away.

Renata: Thank you Professor Watkins for that introduction. Now, as I'm sure you're all aware, I am a highly successful professional in Los Angeles. If you think money can't buy you happiness, just look at the smile on my face. But in order to get where I am today ---

Renata is drowned out by the sound of a howl. A werewolf comes tearing into the classroom and starts mauling Renata. Buffy jumps up and pulls the lycanthrope off of Renata. They struggle for a while, and then the werewolf manages to break free and escape. Buffy gives chase, as WIllow goes to see if Renata's still alive. Based on the ripped-out throat, the answer is no.

Later, the Summers residence. Buffy and Willow are eating ice cream.

Willow: Did you get the werewolf.

Buffy: I think I can say that I got the situation under control. I really liked that guest lecture. It was short, to the point, and had a surprise ending. Maybe I should consider law school.

Angel Season 1, Episode 5: Protection

Previously, on Angel:

Drusilla: I told you we were going to a funeral!

Darla flings Drusilla at the mob and races for a side door. Angel charges into the crowd, scoops up Dru, and starts for the exit. He makes it, except for a couple torches catching his clothes He runs out and plunges into the river with Dru. Cut to present day. Angel is asleep in his bed when the fire alarms go off. His apartment is burning around him. He starts awake and rushes outside. The fire trucks arrive, but it's too late. The apartment, and much of its contents, are a loss. Cue opening credits.

pevergreen is driving down the street on a motorcycle. He's stopped at a stoplight when a beggar comes up to him.

Beggar: Please, can you spare some change?

pevergreen: Sorry my good man, but I can't.

Beggar: No, then how about some of your blood?

Beggar vamps out and knockes pevergreen off her motorcycle. The beggar is going in for the kill, when another figure punches him. It's Angel

Angel: Not while I can help it. I'm in a bad mood today, you see my home burned down. And I think I'm going to take it out on you.

Angel lays into the Beggar with a will. He's right about to finish the beggar off, when the beggar cries out.

Beggar: Look, a blond!!

Angel: Where?

The beggar punches Angel in the stomach, making him let go, and flees into the night.

Angel and Doyle, at a coffee shop.

Angel: It's really weird, you know? I feel like my past is coming back to haunt me. More than usual, I mean.

Doyle: Well, either it's just your conscience, or someone or something's put the bad mojo on you. For now, let's start by finding you a new place.

Angel: I can't live here. It's far too grandiose.

Doyle The owners skipped town a few weeks ago. I don't think they'll mind if you squat for a couple weeks.

Angel: Alright. But only for a few weeks.

Cecil has been scanned to likely be working with the Master who is a bad guy according to people who know this show. He also was a MUCH better choice without that than pever or Link both of who almost died due to the trigger happiness of my boo and her associates. Skooma just seems like a good guy despite what happened. We should put him off to the end.
