Although it must be said, that all the demo's in the Total War series so far, were wuite unstable and way more demanding on your pc than the finished product.Originally Posted by TB666

I'm dying to see the demo, just to check how and if it works on my comp. As to the date, my guess would be the beginning of October, but who knows.
Leaving TW players without any official details concerning system requirements and without the demo is pretty cruel.
Any enws yet? I keep wetting myself dreaming bout this game and I'm running out of sheets![]()
Isn't it funny how people trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell?

Lucky,
While I realize quite a few people seem to want more from the demo. I would like you all to keep in mind CA is giving us more. If anyone remebers the rome total war demo, we got ONE batttle, and we could play as ONE faction.
This time we get two battles, and we have two factions. So think of it as double the value.
Also not sure if this matters to anyone but

Basically PC Gamer is having the demo come out, in there next magazine edition. Basically if you ignore the junk of chat, the magazine will hit store shelves on Oct 26, if you subscribe to it, you'll recieve it in the mail on Oct 23.
I don't really know what to make of this. If it's true they have a exclusive you guys probably all have a good solid month to wait. Anyway thought that would alleviate some people at least.
OMG that can't be serious dude!
CA said the demo was near completion, and that public release will be very soon.
I hope you are wrong mate and that the demo won't release 26th october, because that's long waiting :D

Well uhm,
Well if you scroll down you can see a picture of the back of mag stating they are getting it next month, and they have some sort of exclusive.
Hey I hope i'm wrong, but then again who knows what soon means with CA. Maybe a month is soon.
Yea I know but they said : 'soon' in the beginning of september![]()

well it would be nice to have maybe 2 historical battles, prologue tutorial for the campaign,3 grand campaign factions and 5 custom batle factions. thats not really too much to ask i dont think
I was kinda hoping that we'd get the Norman Conquest of England part in the demo

Factions in grand campaign? If they let you play through whole thing even as one faction i'd ruin a variety of surprises and the like.
Whether people like it or not there are two major selling factors to most people in new total war, graphics engine, and new campaign map things.
They can't just let you choose any army you want because then they have no surprise there. The tutorial can't show you a entire faction area because then you'd lose something there.
Like I said if you honestly consider RTW just had one battle. You are getting 2 historical battles (preset factions), and a prologue. It's not a bad deal. Sides the demo isn't made for purpose of you having something to do for a month. Fact is despite tons of cool animations, there will only be so many ways to adjust your army (till someone mods it). It's just meant to remind people total war is coming out, and test out battle engine. At this stage though since everyone knows what there getting you might as well just learn to accept.
I imagine the demo will be out in early to mid October. IIRC the Rome demo was released very soon before RTW hit the shelves. I do also remember the Rome demo being sluggish compared to the final game, so I suppose that CK will be optimizing their code during those final few weeks or however long that takes.
"No Plan survives Contact with the Enemy."
Rest assured that once the modding community gets hold of the demo we will have more battle options; remember BI?

I hope it will come soon and then kill some french![]()

That sounds likely with Amazon.co.uk giving 24th November as the game's release data - the demo a month before release sounds about right.Originally Posted by Bob the Insane

in that case, a prologue tutorial thing and 6 custom battle faction and 2 historic battle. thats not too much too ask, that's just a fraction of what the whole game has to offer
That's not all Amazon are saying - they're now stating:Originally Posted by econ21

So - just how exclusive is exclusive these days, eh? Reminds me of the 'World Exclusive' banner that gets slapped on stories available in all the other tabloid 'news'papers over here...
Anyway, looks like we'll get our hands on it at the end of October via one exclusive deal or another, which is pretty cool no matter how you slice it.

Once again it is looking as if late oct is the date of demo.

I'm just sayin it dosn't look good for all you people hoping it comes out first week of oct.The good news October is only a few days away. :) Then you can all do this monthly countdown demo thing once more haha![]()
Till then my advice is watch alot of movies, hang on forums and do this, alot

In Australia the game is listed for release on the 31st Oct.
Wouldn't that be something to get it before the rest. GOD! I hope its true.
Ok I've got the demo release date. This is quoted from my favourite store in New Zealand. This is for the Collector's Edition, it's the only one they are offering.
"Pre-order Medieval II off Gameplanet Store and you'll score yourself the chance to try the game out early! We'll send you out a special code on October 14th so that you can download the demo direct from Sega TWO FULL DAYS before it goes live to the public! :D This offer is exclusive to Gameplanet Store in New Zealand".
Here's the link with the whole details: http://www.gpstore.co.nz/Games/1515494.html
So let me get this straight to get the game two days earlier I have to order it from new zealand which means waiting a whole extra 6 days to get it lol. Since i'm American. I think i'll settle on oct 16 thanks :P
Other games have a singleplayer demo and a multiplayer demo and .... and we get an "exclusive" Gameplanet PAY Demo crap. Pffff. Sega - Be brave and show us the game or let it be. These marketing behaviour dislike the most gamer. It seems to be, that marketing departments have less and less knowledge about the customers. Thats really sad. Listen to your customers or lose them.Originally Posted by Griefmaker
