i have a different "tangent" of the Ukita family tree,
this does intersect with yours, but then diverges again, may be helpful (i used your Tangent to flesh out my list) ojima Takanori (Founder) (decended from Miyaki family) ((Ukita Takanori)) Ukita Muneie Ukita Munie (alt) Ukita Hisaie (son of Muneie) Ukita Yoshie d.1534 (son of hisaie) Ukita Yoshiie (alt) Ukita Okiie d.1536 (son of yoshie) Ukita Naoie 1530-1582 (son of Okiie) Hachirou Naoie (alt) Ukita Haruie (son of Okiie) Ukita Hauie (alt) Ukita Tadaie (son of Okiie) Ukita Hideie 1572-1655 (son of Naoie??) Ukita Hidiie (alt) Hachirou Hideie (alt) Ukita Motoie (artist) (G-grandson of Toshiie) Ukita Hidetaka (GG-grandson of Toshiie) Ukita Hachirou (alt of ??) need retainers?? allies?? PM me B. NOTE:- with all these lists (families, allies and retainers) they are not finalised, i still have resources that i am reading through FURTHER in all my lists the clan a character first appears in the histories working for, is the clan he is in. NOTE:- retainers and allies include mostly real characters, but some from "suspect" historical sources are included, "suspect historical sources" that means family legends, stories, letters and the like Last edited by barocca; 05-16-2006 at 10:00. |

Thanks Barocca Sama! Glad to see you back.
It seems that becouse of the limitations of game engine. It will be hard to script all the characters to born on right time set.But more historicall names to the name pool than better.Btw did you find many names of women when you studied these genealogies? It seems the mentions of the wifes names are pretty scarce.

wives/concubines are scarce,
unfortuntely i did not keep a note of who was who, merely made a list of possible princess names - my mod is for the Medieval engine I am really looking forward to your Mod for the Rome engine, did you ask Duke John if he has any resources, names, artwork etc that he is willing to donate to the cause?? Amako/Amago this is a clan i was not going to include in the first release of Samurai for MTW, but maybe in an update, i am posting the whole list, clan, alt name for clan, reainers and allies because Amako/Amago were a very tight knit and loyal group (which is why the defection of Honjo Tsunemitsu made the "news", so to speak) Amako and Amago the difference's in dates between the versions of the names cannot be explained but i am 100% confident that they ARE the same people, Rokkaku Takauji (ancestor) Amako Takahisa (founder) Amako Mochihisa Amako Kiyosada d.1487 Amako Tsunehisa (1458-1541) = A noted strategist and competent ruler Amako Mimbu-shôsuke (alt-1) Amako Hisayuki d.1541 Amako Akiyuki (son Hisayuki) Amako Masahisa d.1518 Amako Okihisa (? - 1534) - good general Amako Genshirô (alt) Amako Kunihisa 1492-1554 - good general Amako Magoshirô (alt-1) Amako Akihisa (1514 - 1562) Amako Haruhisa 1514-1562 (alt) Amako no Masahisa d.1554 Amako Yoshihisa (1536-1610) Amako Katsuhisa (d. 1578) Amako Toyohisa d.1546 Amako Hidehisa Amako Tomohisa Amako Yoshihisa 1536-1610 Amako Katsuhige (grandson of Kunihisa) == == Amago Takahisa (founder) Amago Mochihisa Amago Kiyosada (14??-1487) Amago Tsunehisa (1458-1541) Amago Hisayuki (14??-1541) Amago Masahisa (1488-1513) Amago Okihisa (1497-1534) Amago Kunihisa (14??-1554) Amago Haruhisa (1514-1560) Amago Akihisa (alt) Amago Yoshihisa (1540)-1610) Amago no Masahisa (14??-1554) Amago Katsuhisa (14??-1554) Amago Toyohisa d.1546 Amago Hidehisa Amago Tomohisa Amago Yoshihisa 1536-1610 Retainers and Vassal Families Kamei, Tako, Kawazoe, Ushio Sase, Uyama, Tachihara, Yamanaka men who "could" have become Amako Daimyo Kamei Korenori (1557-1612) Kamei Masanori (son of korenori) Yamanaka Shikanosuke - 1545-1578 A natural fighter Yamanaka Yukimori (alt-1) Kawazoe Hisamori d. before 1567 diplomatic Kawazoe Mimasaka (alt) Megata Yukinobu d.1569 Megata Shimbei (alt) Yamanaka Mitsuyuki (1519?-1546) Kamei Niiwanori Kamei Hidetsuna (15??-15??) I will, however, be happy to send you a list of everything when i finish, but it may be some time - like a couple of months at the least, going through these names is very tedious if i want to avoid duplication. and yes, Samurai has become an overwrite mod,
(beta 5 and 6 were X-packs) this allows us to change voices and interface, to use proper banners and symbols and to include more original units, plus a couple more units i am building, also we have a huge selection of models from shoggy, new skins for a ton of the MTW-VI models, plus i expanded the terrain models with new skins as well. we also have a reasonable cherry tree in early bloom :-) cant have a Shogun/Samurai mod without a cherry tree in bloom... cheers, B.

Thanks!About how we did our research it was made narrowing it to the people that were alive in 1524-1600. Now it seems possible that we will expand our timeline to 1615(to the end of Osaka Summer campaign). So i will go through yours and our genealogies to perfect the name pools. Thanks again Barocca. This will help us a lot.

lots of children who died very young were rarely mentioned at all,
also the Japanese have the same habits as everyone else, naming children after ancestors, so you could easily use names from either side of your chosen period to represent those who died young and were never given a chance to make their mark in history. B. |

Yes you are right. Also the cross adoptions will make hard to determine who to put in whos family tree. But the good thing is that we are just basicly starting with Historicall situation, then its the players job to start changing history.

In my amateur studies, the name evolutions make me a bit crazy.
For example all below refer to the same person. Hiyoshimaru Tokachiro Kinoshita Hideyoshi Hashiba Hideyoshi Toyotomi Hideyoshi And Hideyoshi was a name he created himself. No family tree Somewhere I read that at least three names (different stages of life) was pretty much customary. Though I don’t remember where I read it. Some links you may find of interest (if you haven’t seen them already). http://areciboweb.50megs.com/fotw/flags/jp-kuni.html http://www.samurai-archives.com/warrior.html

while the names don't belong to a family tree, they are often taken as characters from samurai families that adopt them.
for instance, the name Hideyoshi came from the names Nagahide and Yoshinari. Also, daimyo's would sometimes give out part of their name as a reward to officers of exceptional bravery, loyalty, or performance. Therefore to create random names you could take part of the name of the head of the family (the Ie of Ieyasu for instance) and combine it with the name of one of his primary retainers (Tadakatsu for instance) to create Ietada. As for the list of female names, the only problem is that some of those names were warrior names. Often a warrior woman-turned-wife would be given a second, more appropriate name upon marriage. However, most people will never notice the difference so it should be okay to use ^^ |

oops, sorry again to doublepost but I forgot to mention. I didn't see them listed so be sure not to forget the Matsudaira line of the Tokugawa family. there are two seperate lines, one before Ieyasu, and a branch family afterwards

To be honest with you, if you want a VERY good representation of some of the major clan's family trees from 1550-1600, check out Nobunaga's Ambition: Rise to Power, it has lifespans and information on over 600 figures from the time period.
Also, in the Azai genealogy, the two sons of Nagamasa, Manpukumaru and Manjumaru, are just childhood names. Had they lived to see adulthood, they more probably than not would have names involving the "Masa" character. If anyone has any questions about anything in the period, feel free to contact me, I'm very interested in it, and am always looking up new information about it. |
