Unit Description
Mamluk Handgunners are available to the Egyptians once the Gunpowder event occurs. Due to a quirk in the tech tree, only the Egyptians can build the basic Gunsmith, so they have the lowest building requirements for gunpowder units.
The downside to this is the fact that Mamluk Handgunners just aren't any good. They are useless in melee, and the handgun has horrible accuracy and range. The best use for them is to move them around to the flank or rear of a pinned unit, and let them fire away. If set in three ranks, they will ripple fire, allowing a regular flow of inaccurate volleys instead of one big, loud, inaccurate blast.

As with all gunpowder units, the handgun is useless in rain. The handgun pretty much negates armour, so on the rare occasion that a gunner scores a hit it will most likely kill the victim.
