Mine Complexes are the second level mine available. The Mine Complex will double the output of the province's existing mine. Mines should be upgraded to complexes whenever possible, they turn a profit within 18 turns (additional income provided over the first level mine, not total income), and are a solid source of income that is not affected by blockades.
Mines require one of the 4 mined resources in the province, Gold, Silver, Copper, and Salt. Iron is not mined in the game for money, it is instead required for the Metalsmith line of buildings.
