The Spearmaker is the first building in the spearmen recruitment line. It allows for the recruitment of basic spearmen and javelin units. The Spearmaker is the first step to building the infrastructure for an organized and more professional military. Spear units form the core of most armies, able to hold the line and defend against cavalry. The Spearmaker also opens up the Swordsmith and Armourer lines.
