I now know how to use Muribitin javelin infantry!

I use them in the second line of infantry usually on the flanks. Once the front lines have charged into a mass. I have the Muribitins on "hold" command, then move them towards the toughest enemy armored unit and let them hurl their javelins. I have seen as many as nine Feudal sergeants go down with each volley. The javelins are very good against armored targets. Once they run out of javelins, I use their high run speed to charge into any enemy flank I can find on engage at will. While my main line units are getting 1 to 1 kills, I am seeing my Muribitins with kill ratios up to 2 to 1.

I no longer use them as frontline skirmishers. They are too short ranged to deal with archers and light cavalry will eat them alive. They belong in the second infantry line.

Try them out, they are good troops.

I am going to have to retry Jinettes now.

That's how I've used them ever since Korean skirmishers. Jinettes are fewer so their javelins deal less damage but they are a lot faster. It's really hard to do any damage even against infantry if they are in the front lines even with their speed. They do their best when the enemy they are targetting is engaged with somebody else.

Yeah, I gave Kerns a retry as well.

In my two most recent battles they have been my most effective units.

First they killed the Polish king (he was going superking style at that time) with their javelins, then they chased down 70 enemies.

The next battle I chased off the first line of Italians then came the second made up of two high royals. They went streight for my chiv MAA, to my luck I had the Kern nearby and got them around to the flank of the knights. With each hurl they killed about 4 knights (it was a tight bunch), finally they charged into the remaining few knights and routed them.
They were my only units to kill more than 40 enemies that battle (I guess 25 of hem were royal knights).

Yes, Jagger that is exactly the best way to use them. One thing for you to try though. When taking the enemy's most expensive unit to target, make sure you target it with ALL your murabitin, because it will rout him faster and (since it is an elite unit more than likely) it will also take the rest of the army with it. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif That is one of the ElmoHead secrets in winning against vastly superior enemy foot soldiers. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
