View Full Version : DANCE Music Suggestions ?

Greetings ALL !

I'm looking for some new tunes, something decadent, HAPPY, and just pure excess for a large party. The party's theme: first easy going-ish drinks, snacks & dinner (think Buddha bar), and then reved up to the maximum all the way till 09:00 the next morning. The music should be somewhat sophisticated (or at least attempt to be), should be something a class above normal club music. I've been to plenty of clubs and love club music (and almost everything else at it's time) but I've never bothered to actually buy or delve deeply.

So if anyone has any suggestions, sites, links etc please do let me know.

Many thanks in advance !

PARTY ON !

If you want sophisticated do not go for dance music.

@ Ichigo

Are those supposed to be dancing stick men?

You may want to take a look at early Leftfield (Leftism is the cd, some perfect tracks), for lounging some milder Squarepusher.

which club or house tracks or acts do you like exactly, Sinan ?

I imagine your answer could narrow down our own answers, as we'd have a better range as to your preferences.

And more mainstream:

Which one of the above would fit your party best, if any ? :book:

If it's more ambient and lounge you'd like, then I think you should try Geoffrey's suggestions - although they don't ring a bell here.

Best party there is imho. You need to bring a caravan and a swimming-pool though or you get nuts.

I could tell what Ichigo did, but what the heck are you trying to draw?

If the world was full of people like you, we would still be playing "club-his-head" as an entertainment.

Quite.

Faithless used to be pretty good. Not the cheeriest stuff, though.

Ah, no "sophisticated" dance party without Massive Attack. Don't forget about Depeche Mode either.
