Windows XP has failed to start up. It gets to the screen where it's loading (little bar moving back and forth), but as soon as that screen goes away, a blank black/really dark blue screen comes up, and stays there. It won't go past that point.
Help please?

Nevermind, it worked, after the fifth time or so. Just out of the blue (literally).
I wonder why?

That's strange...
In all of my boot ups, I've never had that happen to me...

How long did you wait before hard booting?
Probably fairly low odds of this, but my instinct would be to update virus definitions and schedule a full scan to run tonight. Sometimes a little glitch like that is just the price of using Windows, but sometimes it's more.

This may or may not be related, but anyways like a month ago my comp started to just get stuck when loading the windows xp logos and safe mode just gets stuck at this one file.
So, I just searched for it online and found that there was an apparent error with Daemon Tools or Alcohol drivers on some comps that caused it. So I ended up having to run a check disk program from a floppy and fix it that way. After that, no more Daemon Tools for me simply because the check disk took so long

It's doing it again. I don't think it's viruses.
On the other hand, it did start after the blue screen, it just took a minute or so. This is really odd.

Have you updated your graphics driver recently, and what graphics card do you own/how old?

And it's working again...
I've got an nVidia 8800GTS.
