Once again I come to consult at the temple of the wise ones :beam:
The mod is finished and runs like a dream.......... ( so far!!!!) Our problem is the self installer. Now this ain't my department but I'll do my humble best to convey the problem. The lad who put the installer together obviously did it right ( manual in one hand no doubt ) and it downloads ( as a zip file ), appears OK, extracts everything and gives ya a setup icon. Click this and off it goes. Fine. Ya get to the bit where it says ' Install to... then lets you browse for a directory. If you install to the Main Total War directory no problem at all it copies everything over and works fine. In order to be doubly sure I set up a clean version of MTW/VI and called it 1809 V5. Put this in the browse option, off it goes, copies everything and says finished. Trouble is it's still copying everything to the TW dir and not to the chosen one i.e the 1809 V5 dir which remains unaltered.
Now this is fine if ya want to install everything and just play 1809 but there will be people out there who have other MTW mods who will want a seperate directory called something else. Is there a way of getting the **&^%!" installer to accept whatever ya put in and do what it's told?
Maybe people who have their own MTW mods will be able to advise. Of course we could do it the old fashioned way and just give out the new folders and files and let them do it manually but there must be a way surely to take the hard work out?
Believe the installer used is called Createinstall free. We don't mind spending some money if someone will tell us what will do the job.
We'd be grateful for any advice.
