Gunpowder has been invented and I have only conquered about 150% more land than I originally started with - a long ay from European domination.

This is the first campaign I've run and I am learning alot ever time I play.
How far behind am I? How much land should I have conquered by this point in the game?

Well it depends on which time you started in. Im still on my second campain (First was corrupted) and the year is 1230 (Im Italy). I have England, Germany, France, Denmark...most of Europe as well as two provinces im strugling to hold onto in the middle east.

You dont have to be at a certain place at a certain time. Infact the only reason I can think of is you have to beat the clock. In 1400 something the game ends unless you hex edit the save game file...

I started at the earliest date possible. This has basically been a tutorial fo me as I have learned most of the basics in this campaign (how the enemy works, how to upgrade- and where, AI, battlefield techniques, diplomacy, religion, etc. etc. etc. and on and on and on with the massive micromanagement)

Still, it appears I have many thing to learn apparently.

I'm still on my first campaign.

Almohead, Normal, Early. It is now 1349 and I own the med. But I am not really playing for world domination as that seems a bit a-historic. Anyway its bad for trade.

I'm just playing for the fun of it.

I dont know why people say domination isnt Historic. I know it didnt happen in Midevil times but the Romans did hundreds of years before the Midevil times. Napolean did it several hundred years after so why not durring?
