Simple parthian/historical/graphical question

If someone of great wisdom and knowledge could please inform me as to what the technical term for that griffon looking beast icon used in the Parthian's faction symbol is, I would be most grateful. I'm trying for find good examples of it for graphical purposes, but not knowing the precise term for it is proving to make my search difficult.

That would be the Ecbatana roundel; It is actually an Achaemenid symbol, and represents a lion with wings. The precise term is difficult to establish due to the esoteric nature of the mythology available to us, some would say that this was a representation of "Sraosha" (Very problematic since "Sraosha" as a Yazata was usually represented by the rooster), some would claim it's just a pimped up lion :shrug:

Usually birds are accorded as embodiments of benevolence in Iranian mythology, while dogs are noted for loyalty. Feline creatures are seen somewhat variably; Lions such as the Angra Mainyu slaying the Primeval Bull/Gâyômârt are undeniably evil, yet the continued use of lions, such as the "Shaighr" in battle-banners marks the virtue of bravery.
