so i just bought a new computer today that came with vista. like the guide says vista has problems with installing the patches, but i didnt see how i could fix the problem. so any suggestions?
I don't have Vista myself, but it *could* be related to the Program Files problem. Did you install the Program Files folder or another one?

You should try uninstalling RTW and then reinstall. When the installer asks you were to put it, don't put it under the "Program Files" directory (the location doesn't really matter - I used "C:/My Programs/The Creative Assembly/Rome - Total War"). Remember where you put it, wherever that is. Then install the patches, which should automatically find it, then install EB (remember to change the install location to the same place you put RTW when installing EB).

so i got the 1.3 and 1.5 patches on my comp(currently dling eb). i just copied and pasted my activiosion file into the owner folder (i haven't put my name as the owner yet). the patches are still im my user/dowloads file. but i did install them both sucsesfully, so where do i want to install eb when it asks me? the guide says where the patches are but im guessing i want to say where i have the pasted copy of activision?

the eb installer goes to the activision folder, but if you have a newer copy it will not be there, it will be under the creative assembly so just browse and find it when your installing eb
i didnt check and assumed it was in an activision folder, but i had just bought a copy of "gold" so my laziness cost me some time
i didnt do any copy or pasting, i just simply started the eb installer and just browsed to where my game was installed
hope that helps
