OK, Im not quite looking for a hordeing mod, more of a mod that allows ALL factions to remain alive after all of their cities are taken. AFAIK, this would not need new units for any factions, just can_horde ine the EDU..is this true?

If someone could provide me with a simple walkthrough on how to do so id be greatfull , and it would be nice if someone made a fresh one, since Ive looked at almost every hordeing post in the forums :laugh4:

Also, to enable BI for EB, all i have to do is change the target line? Of the EB shortcut or the RTW shortcut?

I am using EB 1.0 and Force diplomacy mod, nothing else.

I think that sounds about right. I think you'd still need to add a line in a file somewhere (descr_sm_factions?) to have the actual faction as a horde. Don't take that as fact though as I've never looked into modding hordes and the like.

As for EB with BI: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1433613&postcount=85

Yeah forgot to mention that part, thanks for reminding me.

i havent tested anything yet, seeing as I would rather not mess with anything. AFAIK you need some files in the UI for the sacking option. Honeslty, I would rather not even have this button, seeing as sacking is sort of unrealistic. I would also not mind if the "leave last settlement" tag was gone. All i am looking for is some way to keep every faction alive without cities. The reason I want this is because i think it would be interesting to face the Greeks 60 years after I conquer them. Say Athenia is under siege by the Ptolmaei for example. The unrest would build, and the Greeks may take advantage of this, conquering the city and rebuilding their nation. Altough the chances are slim, it would be rather interesting.

Anyone know anything else about this before I dive into the abyss of modding? I dont want to screw anything up :laugh4:

I'm fairly sure you'd need to also add the "horde_unit" - or whatever it now was - attribute to whole lotta units in the EDU for the hording to work properly; at which point you also run into the wee bit of problem that no cities = no income, but the units still cost their normal upkeep (IIRC the "horde" unit versions in BI were separate entries with upkeep cost set to 0)... so those Greeks you encounter sixty years after their last city went would be so deep in debt it wouldn't even be real.

That would be OK, it incorages fations to find new land before there in trouble.

This idea sounds pretty good, I hope that you manage to do it.

AFAIK, EB has a script that gives money to the AI, so they are never truely in debt. This way, hordeing in EB would still allow them to have cash to pay for their men...unless im mistaken of course.

Thanks for the support guys, ill let you know if i can succesfully create a mini-mod.

Well yeah... but the moneyscript IIRC used the number of settlements controlled as the measure of how much moolah to dole out.
So you'd have to muck around with that too.

.
I started working on one. It's really simple following Makanyane's excellent tutorial (http://www.twcenter.net/wiki/Hording_and_Emergent_Factions_-_RTW/BI) once you manage to figure out which units to make hordable and their upkeep. :sweatdrop:

I think I've frozen the work on it until after EB 1.1 is out. :coffeenews:
