Removing a faction

Is there any way to completely remove a faction, i.e. have them non-selectable and all of what would be their cities just become rebel cities?

I've tried messing around with this and removed Egypt (almost successfully).
But now whenever I scroll to the regions nile_delta, thebais, or middle_egypt the game crashes.

Have you also switched any reference to them in descr_regions.txt file to another faction? You also need to delete the map.rwm file after doing that...

Hmm I was pretty sure I did that. I'll go check around again cuz i am quite the newbie...

I'll post again if i continue to struggle.
