Hi everyone ~

For the second time in my Total War career I am getting rid of my games. Before you try and stop me they have already been purchased on Ebay and I need to post them tomorrow. Initially I did this with RTW but then upgraded my PC for M2TW and ended up buying RTW again to play on it.

I have played the game to death and have varied my style with various formats, i.e. mods, iron man rules, PBM's, single province campaigns etc. Now when I start playing I very quickly get bored and quit.

What will I now do with all my spare time I hear you ask? Well I have an 8 year old son and as you may have spotted I am venturing into tabletop wargaming. I have purchased some pre-painted figures and been along to a local club and it seems to appeal to me.

Never say never and I may one day come back to Total War but to be honest the Classical period appeals most so Empires doesn't interest me too much.

I will continue lurking around the Org for a while but I would like to wish everyone I have had the pleasure of coming into contact with all the best. A special thanks goes to Tricky Lady for being my MP and PBM opponent throughout the years.

Live long and prosper (Not Star Trek :wall: ).

Robert

Well, it seems that you are pretty certain, and by the sounds of it it is the correct decision. There is no point keeping a game you do not enjoy. Good luck with your wargamming, oh and your son aswell

Gah, you should go back to STW/MTW and try out some of the mods.

Have fun! There are more important things in life than Total War, and it is great to see that some people remember that!

Busted, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :wall:

Thanks for all your best wishes everyone.

Yes I have been looking at the site everyday but the games are sold. I need to wean myself off this addiction slowly otherwise I will get the shakes. :skull:

I have been tabletop wargaming again but that is once a week. I have time on my hands and miss being able to jump into Total War as the need arose.

Anyway I'm currently reading the 5th book in the Eagle series by Simon Scarrow as well as using 15mm Early Imperial Romans for the tabletop wargaming so am keeping my hand in the ancients.

I will continue lurking in the shadows.
