In the past I have played with Casse and found them to be excellent from a fear/inspiration perspective; they can easily recruit troops that inspire other units and fear causing units. Also all FM ride chariots and so you often have the enemy fleeing in terror soon after the battle is joined.

Does anyone know what kind of bonus/penalty is cause by fear/inspiration to other allied units?

Also does anyone know if a list exists for which units have these effects? In my KH campaign I regularly include a troop of naked spearmen in each of my armies solely based on their fear inducing abilities (although they do suffer from some sunburn being out in the desert in the arabian peninsula!).

I think the fear/inspiration thing is just a morale bonus.

Is the fear effect cumulative?

In my current Casse campaign the naked spearmen are the main body of my armies, so I have 6 of them plus a chariot FM. I'm constantly amazed at how quickly the enemy routs, even Sweboz armies led by the Faction Leader.

I would think it would be, but don't quote me on this. If you somehow got 20 units in a stack that all have the frighten other infantry trait, I would fear it'd be extremely powerful, too powerful in fact, though expensive definitely so perhaps it wouldn't work like that, but if it did just think of 20 Gaesatae in one stack.

I think that 20 stacks of highly trained, drugged up naked men would quiet rightly be a terrifying sight

it is, try to face 3 gaesetae units at the same time :laugh4: I guess the morale bonus for "command" units is cumulative too
