Mines increase the % you get from the resource. I think its +50% for a mine and +another 50% for a complex. Easy money as they say!

Yes, but you need to build a goldrush marker and drop it on that sector. This will create a goldrush crusade composed of gold-panning units and they can be used to extract gold from that sector. You then need a tavern in the province to generate florins from the goldrush units.

You still get an income from farming/trade. Mines give you a steady income (not affected by good/bad harvests), not increased percentages.

If you mine too much gold, gold will replace florins as your currency.
This really sucks, as there were very few places to change your money to florins.
Best not to mess with gold mines.
Copper mines, however, are another thing altogether.

Gold can also increase affect the intrest rates of your country and the countrys around you. Of course you can get governors to lower it. Wait... am I in the right forum?
