View Full Version : Mead Hall Poem
Brave is my name,
By night and day,
I play a game,
beside the bay.
I do not hide,
I do not sneak,
Please do not freak,
Please hear my side.
I look out,
See the light,
Feel my plight,
I am no lout.
I see a child,
Out in the wild,
With no home,
Just free to Roam.
I gaze at my screen,
I know I have luck,
I could have been,
A child in the muck.
Join me in creating a masterpiece.
I am not normally one to comment on poetry, but as of late we've had a shortage of critics so please do not mind me too much!
First off let me welcome you to the Mead Hall Brave! it's good to see a fresh face around these parts. I think the poem was quite a good introduction for you, and I hope to read more. ~D

There is a boy.
Wandering amongst the scattered remains,
All of men once alive and loved
The child seeks refuge in his father's dying arms.
Fighting to fight back tears of weakness,
Under a mask of bravery the father cries;
"Child, why doth though weep?"
Kind words cruelly misplaced.
Over the rolling meadows there is a light,
Flames that flicker like the light of life,
For all men must, when God wills it, return to the night.
"Death." says the father to his weeping boy
"Until it grabs you its beauty is ne'er revealed.
Never fear death, embrace it with arms wide.
Go. Look after your mother. Tell her that
Every man must leave this world to dwell with the Lord,
Rolling meadows await me now. Tell her I died with a smile on my face".
Over the rolling meadows there is a light,
Flames that flicker like the light of life,
For all men must, when God wills it, return to the night.

"though" is meant to be "thou"
(not adding anything, just whispering between parens: nice imagery and feeling keith from so few lines! good work)
Slight of build,
The master of the Guild,
Fire in the dock,
Unleesh my..
-
Pain beyond measure
Expect mad pleasure,
Accept thy fate,
Cuss no more,
Old is the lore.
-
The die is cast,
Whether to last,
Some will never know.
-
Starry nights,
Troublesome storms,
Rallied knights of
Ingaland,
Kill one and see it replaced,
Each one
Superior.

Against all hope,
Gary Glitter
And the Pope,
Ignite their fire,
Never to meet their sire.
