It's a great honour to be among you in this ancient most famous dojo.
Last night I decided to give STW another swing (for the first time in a couple of years) and remebered one slight annoyance.
When you or your enemy is hit my arrows, you can hear it, as the game plays a sound.
IIRC, there is also a sound for being hit by bullets/musket fire. But it'll never be played in battle.
So I ask, most humbly, if you in your wisdom know this to be a feature never implementet or if I have sound card problems.
With most obidient respect,

Hi, welcome back!
It works fine for me, I hear clear gun sounds when the camera is close to firing musks.
I don't know about this problem... but good luck solving it! Posting in Apothecary (a forum on this board) may be a good idea. ~;)
Knight of the Rose seems to mean the hit of a bullet, not firing it.
Oh dear, yeah, I must've misinterpreted his post. :embarassed: Well, I don't recall about that. When I get back on a my own comp coming week I'll test it for you. ~:)

Yes, it is the sound of impact I'm missing. The sound of muskets is just fine. The sound files are in the \sounds\battle\troops-folder, and I can play them without problems. But they're not playing in the game.
There could be numerous solutions, which I will promptly seek in the relevant forum. I wanted to know if it actually was a problem before I posted there.
Thank you very much for looking into it for me, it is duly appreciated.

Make them yourself, just sit there next to the computer and imagine what it would sound like. :beam:
Tried it. I do hear something. Right before your hear the 'screams' of the dying men, I can hear some 'ticking'. It's nothing really significant though. You wouldn't notice in the heat of battle.
Ehmm, anybody know a quick way to find out what soundcard+driver I have? I'm not good at looking up system info.. :embarassed:
Start/Control Panel/System/Tab Hardware/Button Decivice manager is a way.
It should be possible to edit the soundfile and increase the volume.
Allright, I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right way, but I found something like 'Realtek High definition Audio'. :book:
