I've had this recent problem with my Casse campaign where the game will revert to windows and shut down during the AI turn. I believe it is the Ptolemai or the new Pontus turn, but I'm not exactly sure.

I've had this problem with Vanilla RTW, but after simply defragging the computer the problem was fixed. I tried doing the same for this issue, but it didn't solve anything.

I also stopped the construction in all my cities, and all the recruitment too. That didn't solve anything. There is no extremely excessive movement, in fact I can't see any at all. There are no rebellions, nothing out of the ordinary. If anything, it's a very unusually tame turn. It's fairly early in the game, about 215 BCE and since the Casse have a bad economy, I've just started expanding and have only three cities. It doesn't seem like I'm overdoing the game, and I only have one other saved file, a long Sweboz game.

Can anyone help to find a solution?

Have you tried downloading all the permanent fixes yet? Maybe even trying out the temporary ones?

Also, I have no idea how you can have played for almost 60 years/240 turns and still only have three cities.

I have a tendency to use the money cheat quite often, so I was trying to not use it.

Without it, I realized I have a very sad grasp of running an economy. And I don't know if it was 215, I took another look at it and it was 230 BCE.

With downloading the patches and the like, will I have to reinstall?

They're not exactly patches, they're just fixes. No reinstallation necessary and your games are compatible as long as you follow the directions.

Last time I played the Casse, I did the sit on my ass and gain money that way trick. Did you remember to disband all your armies at the very least? Before twenty years passed, all of the isles were mine. Remember, there comes a time when your economy's good enough to start recruiting troops. You get money faster by conquering. The bright side, though, is that the rest of the world is now actually thriving. So you can look forward to fighting stronger factions.

Thanks very much. I'm not the most computer saavy person.

As the Casse, I try to take advantage of the Eleutheroi neutrality as much as possible. But on the bright side, it only took me two turns to conquer two provinces. So if I can get my game to work, I might get to Rome, in say, fifty turns. Lol.
