View Full Version : Let Me See If I Have It Right, Trade By Boat

Played a Hellish campaign, I actually threw my hands up and walked off from my PC cursing a few dozen times over 4 weeks. I played stricly a military campaign, no politics, no trade, and after reading many posts on this board, I see the many mistakes I made.

Let me see if I have this right. To trade by sea, I have to have a province with tradeable goods, a port, and a line of ships to an allied or neutral province that also has tradeable goods. Correct? Then I will have more cash flowing in.

Also, I had mass rebellions, I mean mass, 8, sometimes 12 provinces a turn. I had 1 spy, 1 assasin, and 1 emissary in each "bad" province, the religion in the province was 88 to 98 in my favor, but still had rampant rebellions.

I've read many cures for rebellions, but the simplist seemes to keep 6 spies in each "bad" province, and according to one Patron, that will stop all rebellions, plus stir up shit in the enemies provinces.

If this is correct, I think I can finish my next campaign without crying. Thanks.

The province which you trade with does not have to have a trade good.

And rebellions happen in many different ways for different reasons.

Do a search on the forum for more info on rebellions.

SO I should send ships to every neutral and allied province, and I'll get trade cash?

Just build a "ship bridge" to any allied or neutral provinces, REMEMBER if 1 teeny weeny enemy ship is in any of the sea lanes that bridge is broken at the point the enemy ship is at

So then I build a small fleet to sweep the teeny ship from my shipping lanes...

Be sure to build several small fleets, each with your fastest ship. Don't include any of your slower ships in a fast fleet, else you won't catch the bad guy.

Also, I'm not sure, but I think you might need Trading Posts and the various Merchants in your province to enhance trade.
