It's "what the daisy is that music?" time of the month again and hereby I shall introduce you to Ondekoza (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ondekoza).

Founded in 1969 by Den Tagayasu, Za Ondekoza (the demon drums group) is the banner carrier of my recent discovery.
They are a taiko band, Japanese drumming that is. Their shows are epic, as much as I see from online videos, with their sound composed of taiko, spiced with flute and chants. Not to be missed once they are around.

I started with their self-titled album, Ondekoza, released in 1997. Absolutely what I want. For an ear that listens to Kenji Kawai's pieces on Ghost in the Shell soundtracks over and over (best example here (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=50:0cfqx9wjldde~T)), Ondekoza is the music.
Here are some:
Yatai-Bayashi (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=50:fzfrxcqkld0e~T)
Futozao (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=50:fxfpxcy5ldfe~T)
Monochrome II (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=50:3xfpxcy5ldfe~T)
Rythm.
