View Full Version : battle mod used?
Does anyone know what battle mod is used for EB1.0? Its very good compared to everything else.
EB doesn't use a battlemod. the EB team has modded the battles theirselves.
i was playing m2tw and theres no point even playing, the enemy just sits there, i just went back to eb, at least the enemy makes an attempt to win.

I have had some good luck with MTW2 mods, and I reccomend the "Darth Ages" for decent battles, new units, new factions, and a 199 province map. In my case, I experience a slowdown in MTW2 battles, so I really don't enjoy them as much as I could. EB has the time period I like though, and the battles are fast and fluid. I might not even go back to MTW2 until I get a new computer, which could be six months or a year from now. Either way, EB has the epic campaign that I enjoy (I know I'm not going to win in the first 50 years) and the dedication to historical accuracy really appeals to the the history geek in me. Either way, don't write MTW2 off just yet, rather look into the mods because there is some good work going on there as well.
one thing that always irked me about MTW2 is the delay in count of casualties to troop units. Takes a good 3-4 seconds for the inflicted/recieved casualties to register, which can be critical when deciding the right time to disengage contanct.

That bothered me too, at first. In RTW the death registers right when it happens, but in M2TW it seems that it won't register until the death animation is completed. I decided I was fine with it though. It seems more realistic that you won't know if you killed or just injured a guy until he was on the ground...
