My buddy wants to install the new Nvidia 169.21 drivers into his rig. (AMD3800/2GB RAM/8600GT) When he tried to remove the old drivers first with the WinXP Add/Remove function, it only gave him the option of uninstalling all Nvidia drivers, not just the display drivers as my rig with an 8800GTS does.

The question is if he does the uninstall, is it going to kill other drivers in the machine that the new driver installation won't replace or even make his machine unworkable?

Thanks.

Just FYI, in my Add/Remove Nvidia drivers function, these are my choices:

Nvidia display driver
Nvidia ethernet driver components
Nvidia IDE driver
Nvidia NForce PCI system management driver
