I swear I'm not an idiot, but I can't figure out how to go back and make edits to my posts after they've been posted.

You're not an idiot, the reason why you can't edit your posts yet is because you're a Junior Member, once you becomes an member then you'll be able to edit your posts.

Welcome aboard, cherryfunk! As QuintusJulius-Cicero pointed out, junior members cannot edit their posts. Promotion to full membership usually occurs within a couple weeks or so.

Any chance we can expedite that process? I have about 15,000 posts over at twcenter.net, I'm a senior developer with the Roma Surrectum mod and I'm here to work on Hyboria: Total War...

I'll work extra hard on Hyboria if you guys can throw me a bone... :beam:

I think you need an admin (one of guys in red) to do it - I did see announcement thread in Hyboria about you a bit earlier, so I did already pm TosaInu to say it would be a good idea to promote you quickly if poss. Hopefully that / this thread might do the trick.

Welcome to the forum anyway. Nice to see more modders here and especially ones willing to help out existing teams

It will come off eventually, but it didnt take a few weeks for me, rather a few days... But just think of it this way, the longer its on, the more youll enjoy the forum when it comes off!

Thanks Makanyane, I appreciate your proactivity. This place is pretty cool -- things are familiar to twcenter, and yet different. Like the Trek mirror universe. Does your Spock have a beard?

Insane, I just think it's a bit odd to disable editing -- I always make typos and grammatical mistakes, so I'm used to editing my posts 2 or 3 times to get them just right. The perfectionist in me. (case in point, I meant to say I have 1,500 posts at twcenter, not 15,000 -- so you've made a liar out of me!!!!) It's not like editing = hacking the forum or something... so it seems a bit of an unecessary precaution...

I think it refurs too new members as i have seen some people post 1 message and then leave, you dont want them to simply spam the last message before they leave, and the longer they are active, the more they will learn and respect the forums. Im not sure if this is the reason, but meh, its my opinion

Its not that much of a big deal, just make your posts quality, try not to make many typos, im not sure if this is right, but i cant remember the spell check command next to preview post command at the right of submit post command ever being unavailable to junior members, try it, but i can promise nothing

Typos and the such like are not a problem. Good spelling is encouraged, but is not required for promotion to member - everybody makes mistakes and some users don't have English as a first language.

I know it's not required, but I write for a living, and I have pride in my words! After all, what else have we, here on the interwebs, but our words?

Well, and our smilies...~

Cherypunk is a member now, now he will stop complaining about his spelling, and mine!

My interpretation of why JM cannot edit is to make them check their posts, to see if the post is constructive, within all the rules of the Guild and correctly spelt etc.

Is that how you spell spelt? :S

You never heard that between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis, and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of?

An age of epic, blood-drenched mortal combat in a world of swords and sorcery...

What is The Hyborian Age: Total War?

In 1930, Weird Tales published a story that would introduce the world to a character who would grow into an icon of the 20th Century. The writer was Robert E. Howard, the story “The Scarlet Citadel”, and the character Conan the Cimmerian. The black-haired, sullen-eyed barbarian from the dark lands of the North lived in a forgotten age, known to the Nemedian Chroniclers as the Hyborian Age. It was an age of great kingdoms, mighty warriors and terrible sorcery. Most of all, it was an age of war.

Because Robert E. Howard pictured the Hyborian Age as being a distilled, fantastic enrichment of more recognizable cultures and eras of earth’s history, a number of the factions are already present in a way. It is a veritable melting pot of history, one where cavemen can fight longbowmen and vikings, where New Kingdom Egyptians can battle steel-clad knights, and Mongol horsemen can clash with Native Americans.

It took me about six months and a PM to TosaInu (did I spell that right?) to reach full member status! It's not fair!!! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

No,just kidding about that last part. :laugh4:
Though it did take me about six months and a PM to TosaInu to get my promotion, but it was really because I'd only signed up to find out why I wasn't allowed to edit my game files and therefor didn't actually frequent the forums yet.
Now you'll never be rid of me! Mwahaha!
