Is your M2TW patched to 1.2 or 1.3 (for MP compatibility with Kingdoms users on reg. M2TW )? You need either 1 of those 2 patches to run Broken Crescent, also, it runs on the M2TW .exe, not Kingdoms .exe.

hi Duke Bart, and welcome to the Org!

you will need to patch your M2TW installation to version 1.2 using the official patch released by CA, before installing the Broken Crescent mod

you can find information on patching M2TW, and links to download sites where you can get the patch here (http://rtw.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/forums/display.cgi?action=ct&f=9,5829,,2)

so:

1) install M2TW out of the box (and test installation by loading the game)
2) patch to 1.2 (and test installation by loading the game)
3) install Broken Crescent (and..you get the picture)

then you might consider patching your Broken Crescent installation to the latest version 1.05, which is available in a sticky thread in the Broken Cresent forum at twcenter (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=346)

if you still can't get it working, there are help threads in that same forum which might suggest a fix for whatever problem you're having

good luck and enjoy BC!

Isn't it better to go up to 1.3?

Remember we had all those starting-the-game issues 1.2. You can get 1.3 by installing Kingdoms or going to the www.totalwar.com and looking in the support section.

You only need 1.3 if you are playing PBM's etc against other human players who have Kingdoms. I have 1.2 and it works fine with BC for me.

i also had the same problem, i think you need to uninstall BC, install the patch(es) and then reinstall BC, it should work then

I have 1.3 M2TW with kingdoms, BC (v1.0) went in first time, and updated to v1.5 with no issues.

BC does take longer to load when starting a game though (lots of factions + lots of units models I expect), I thought it had froze when I first booted it, but it runs fine once its going.
