View Full Version : Faction Leader Receives Augustus Trait but no reforms?
I finally met all the requirements to achieve the Augustan reforms, and when my faction heir became the faction leader nothing happened. I looked at his traits and he received the Augustus trait which states something to the effect that the republic has ended and Rome is now an empire with the faction leader now being more like a monarch. I didn't get any new units or any sort big to do about it. Nothing changed. What gives?

This happened to me as well, and I was extremely worried, until I realised something. Tha Augustan Reform can´t happen until 125 BC .
You can still get an Augustus and end the Republic, but you won´t get any new units until 125 BC . This is most likely what has happened to you.

The only solution is to change the script accordingly to the threads about having Augustan Reforms happen earlier; this is possible by adding some code with Unconditional reforms - i.e. after capture of xx cities ors similar; also it is also possible to set the minimal required date earlier, like in 180 BC or so (in the script code the dates are coded in number of turns required, counting from the start; 1 year is 4 turns).

Something similar can happen with the other reforms as well, such as the Reformator trait for the Polybian reforms.
A lot of my characters keep getting the name Augusts after their first name, its 84 BC. Is this the Augustus trait? If not then what is it?

I have a FM with the Augustus trait aswell and also no new units even after five test turns, I´ve been careful to activate the script, haven´t modded anything near it and I´m far beyond 125 BC.
Hoping it was a temporary glitch I tried to reload some saves and went through the end of the republic a few times but with exactly the same outcome.
EDIT: I think I may know what causes it, sorry for not noticing it before now but I just realize that I´m the victim of a bug that I wrongly thought only to be present in a few cities but that has now either rendered many of my government type building icons invisible or made them disappear. Nonetheless I do not have as many Type II Governments as are required as many of those affected by the bug were Type III or IV which I now can never fully romanize and most newly acquired settlements are still Type III or IV.
I´ll just set some unconditional reform or something but should I create a new thread here about this building icon bug or are you already aware of its existence ?
Thank you for your time
You can scroll down in the building list, you'll find your current government there.

Thank you sir but I am aware that I can scroll down but the problem isn´t that I do not know where to find them but that the government icons really are completely gone, at least 10 cities have lost theirs.
I only have my laptop ( no EB ) with me all week else I would have uploaded some screenshots I took a while ago with the intention of posting a bug report.
EDIT: They seem to be just invisible as FM´s get the interloper trait in settlements which had a type IV government before the icon disappeared.
You may have to destroy some building to see them then. Make a note of what your treasury is, then destroy something to get to your government, do whatever you wish with it and process_cq back the building(s) you destroyed afterwards. Finally add_money back to your original treasury amount.

Thank you, I feel a bit awkward as I was aware that most cities would "hide" building icons due to the limit of 24 available spaces on the screen but forsook my further testing of this possible cause when having razed some cities to nothing but indestructables and still with no gov type appearing, followed by some sporadic deletion of buildings in various settlements which I soon stayed because of the clearly bugged first attempt but which I should have pursued as it turns out now that I´ve tried doing it again, that I needed to destroy at least 6+ buildings in many of them before the icons reappeared and that the few cities where the amount of icons shown simultaneously did not exceed what is possible and in which I most clearly noted the glitch were now on another savegame all bug-free.
I still have screenshots of at least one of the gov.type building-less cities so I´m not hallucinating - as I first thought when they suddenly reappeared - but problem solved.
I´ve seen gov type icons duplicated aswell by the way, which might be related if that is what happens, have had a few settlements with double gov type icons and always type 4.
PS.
My apologies also for a late answer, I´m moving to a new apartment and my internet provider is quite slow.
