I love physics (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,347212,00.html):

The latest spin-off from Cern, the particle physics centre that created the web, the grid could also provide the kind of power needed to transmit holographic images; allow instant online gaming with hundreds of thousands of players; and offer high-definition video telephony for the price of a local call.

We already have something like that. It's called "The Internet".

It could it might, it should perhaps or maybe it's black hole eats our planet.

Its about 10,000 times faster then broadband.

So the grid is to broadband what the broadband is to 56k dial up.

From the scientist who devoloped the internet?? umm isn't that including you me and anyone else who is in the massive beta test we call the internet. Tosa is a scientist then so am i and so is my brother. They lie and use false facts... tisk tisk tisk

No one group of people can take credit for... "Devoloping" the internet. It is the only thing as of yet that has pretty much been a life created by man artificialy. (my spell check isn't working so if somethings spelled wrong...).

The article says the web and not the internet. Web as in world wide web and CERN was indeed rather important for its development.

That's some hilarious dreamy bollox. :laugh4:

If you are one of the creators of the internet you can probably name some of the protocols that are used for the communication between two backbones or a backbone and a modem or maybe just a network protocol and I don't just mean the name, tell me about all the steps it uses and the things it does, then we could follow that up by a circuit diagram of a broadband modem and then you tell me again that everyone develops the internet. :dizzy2:

The content of the internet may be produced by most people with access to it but the network itself and the underlying technical knowledge etc are in no way a creation of everybody, at best we all finance it by paying a monthly fee to an ISP or taxes to finance research projects like CERN.

Trolling wins people a quick trip to the lion's den, and we don't feed those lions. Posts relating to that burp in the proceedings deleted.

I've been wondering if this is the correct forum for the topic, and I still feel that the hardware forum might be a better fit. While it might be used by gamers in years to come, it's not a game itself. So over it goes.
