View Full Version : Voice clipping
Back on 1.0, I, and probably many others, have noticed that the voice clips when you choose a Romani ram. Now, in 1.1, I tried out the Romani again. I've noticed that it's not just the ram voice that clips anymore, a whole bunch of other ones do as well. Most noticeable one is when you choose to move a unit. It gets annoying hearing that all the time.
Anybody else have this problem? Did you guys change the voice files around or something?
What do you mean by clipping strange sounds at the end?

It's probably the much more rigorous compression methods. Now the files are in the same format they were supposed to be (i.e.: the Vanilla files use the same), which saves considerable space on your HD.

Just try out a Romani campaign. Just play one battle and you'll see what I mean. The sound cuts off abruptly in some of the voices.
At the moment we are checking them all 1 by 1
So we are on it but it's quite alot of work
Thank you :2thumbsup:
Good thing that this is in EB as I was thinking that my sound card was buggering up. One that I noticed that has a jarring sound at the end of it is when you click on a roman unit that is attached to a ram.
Yeah, that ram one was in 1.0 as well. A little annoying, but now there are more of that sort of stuff so now it's a little... well... more annoying I guess.

Yep, it's a factor in the MS ADPCM sound format - etremely compressed. At the end of the sound you will hear a stuttering from the beginning of the same sound. Hopefully will be fixed soon.
