Just won a total domination campaign as English, normal, early. Now I would like to play another faction, probably Byzantine, hard, early, but want different win conditions. From reading posts on GA, it seems to be lacking in that it heavily favors conquest to the point where your game turns into a conquest game and many of the other goals and scoring are either buggy or hard to understand (ending up in less fun/satisfaction). What are some "win conditions" that players set for themselves with various factions, esp. the Byz? I am particularly interested in historically based goals, such as not losing Constantinople to the Turks, etc. Perhaps restoring Rome to her ancient glory or some such. Has anyone set up their own scoring system for a GA-type game?

It is EXACTLY the kind of game I'm currently playing. Main GA are : keep your country & conquer others. There are some others, but they do bring far less points in long term. So, in 1260, I own Ukraine, All muslim land, Scandinavia, northern GB & Some french lands including Flanders. I've been forced to crush the momoheads because they were blocking my trade!!!
