What is the "Casse Invasion", and when does it occur. Are they scripted to just have an army appear in Belgae, or is there more to it than that... Has anyone played 1.1 obsessivly enough to see this event yet?

A new land bridge I wonder? One way to find that out right away.

No, it's a script snippet which hopefully triggers the AI Casse Conquest of the Continent (tm). :beam:

Really? I wonder if there could be a similar one made to get Romani to invade Africa/Greece, or vice versa for that matter.

Sorry....what?
The Casse are scripted to move onto the continent?

If the A.I. Casse manage to unit the British islands, a Casse army will be spawned near one of the Belgae towns in order to entice them to move on to the continent. The A.I. is quite capable of ignoring those towns, however. The above screenshot is most likely the consequence of a bribe-happy A.I. rather than a scripted invasion.

I always wondered WTF that Casse army was doing in the middle of Germania... at least I know now

Huh, that's weird; in a Romani game when I finally managed to send a diplomat to Britannia I found they'd united the islands, but when I went on to conquer Germania I never found a wandering Casse army, and to my knowledge they'd never been at war with anyone.

There is four possible explanations:

1) The army did not attack the town, but hid in one of the forests.
2) The A.I. shipped the army back to Britain.
3) The army was defeated.
4) You forgot to activate the script :clown: .

I am thinking of whether or not to remove it from the script to improve end turn times because so far none of my games have gone far enough for Casse to unite the british isles and it seems like it is hit or miss any way.

no, the script is activated all time

@ nobo: my EB is half english half german (i think) because i have the german Rome-TW version but EB is english..

the gaul factions in EB are both really passive :( they stay in place and always get rape by the AI romans.

They aways do it in my campaigns (had one as Saba and am working on a Romani one)

in my campaigns the aedui always conquer the averni. they are active but have no cance against sweboz, lusotanna and romanii at the same time. in my actual roman campaign the aedui were very agressive. I wanted to conquer spain, cartagho and hellas/macedonia before i go north towards the averni and aedui, but i had to strike back against the aedui even before i defeated lusotanna because they besieged massilia, tolosa and segesta at the same time! In my case, usually the Aedui hammer the Arverni at some point, but then suddenly the Arverni make a comeback and usually even manage to unify Gallia. As for the Romans, they've never even tried to go north lately (thank the VC minimod!). The only problem seems to be the Sweboz who usually conquer up to the Rhine, then maul the Arverni...

I always play on vh camp/m battle. from my very first play of EB till now, the gaul factions has always been stationary. romans always get them. germans are pretty passive too, once it has taken it's homeland regions.

how are the ptolemaioi in your games, in 99% of mine they explode an conquer half the map befor I (as a western faction) come close to them... i still can beat them in a hard fight, but it would be much more interesting if other factions survived wich i could fight (with survived i mean more than 1 settlement like the AS or the Hay have left in my current Roman Campaign)

The Ptolemaioi are beating the Selukids much too easily at the moment. Other than that the factions are mostly balanced. The Lusotannan tend to be a tad too easy, I think. I'm happy for the Arverni/Aedui to be somewhat weaker and divided, as in their present form. 'Divide and conquer', so they say. The only other major imbalance is that the Quarthadastim ought to be more powerful. They were a deservedly serious contender to Rome, after all and twice caused Rome much grief.

That aside the balance seems to be quite good. Rebalancing tends to be a bit of a juggle, only very subtle changes from here on out seem to be necessary. :juggle2:

well, the lusotannan almost always kick carthage out of iberia and start invading gaul. if you let them come so far, they can be quite tough.

Make Carthage more powerful? Right now it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE for a Carthaginian player to lose to the Romans. If anything, the city of Messana should revolt to the Romans as soon as they conquer southern Italy. That would force a confrontation, as Carthage and Rome would border one another.

the egyptians gets owned by the seleucids every game. they make a fight for it, but always end up losing the entire middle east and end up with africa only.

There really seems to be a problem with the so called ''Yellow Fever'' with most of you guys. In my case, it's the Seleukids who win over the Ptolemaioi. They even managed to subdue all of the Levant, then moved against Alexandreia herself in my previous campaign! Fortunately, the Ptolemaioi repulsed them and slowly started winning back territories in Ioudaia. Of course, I sort of ''helped'' them by sacking every single city in the Levant, but ok :-P

I'm extremely surprised and happy how the casse put up resistance in my romani campaign, they gathered great armies in britain and challenged me to great battles , and now they attack me in Gaul.

Its not like I play the game beyond 230ish (CTDs....) that often but I never seen Casse even uniting Britania.

In my Sweboz game, around 240-30 BC, the 1,000 pirate ships clustered around my ports all suddenly sailed off west towards Casseland. A year later about half returned, and immediately went back west again the next season. This cycle kept up until I eventually cleared the area with my own navy.

I always thought that the Casse had been trying to make a navy but kept getting killed by pirates.
