I always seem to get really good generals with high acumen and whatnot who're in charge of peasant units.

It would be nice if you could take a weak unit like peasants and train them up to be a more powerful non-noble unit like spearmen to provide your illustrious leader with at least some protection in a battle.

Common rant. I usually have my best guys as militiamen. I upgrade their armor ASAP to keep them alive slightly longer, but it remains difficult http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif((

doesn't anyone else use ex-heirs as governors of their best provinces? they rock! besides, having cheapo suckage high acumen peasants means you can shove them all into a port province somewhere safe and monitor them with about a dozen emmisaries to lay the smack down on any candy ass govs[/list]

Hey all, could you guys tell me the names and when/where and with what stats various faction heroes arrive? Like England gets John Mercadier and William Marshal, what do the other factions get?

Thanks,
