Every time i play the game, i notice that britain is very, very rarely invaded. In fact without mods i have never seen it happen. Even with me (#1 on the AI hate list) playing as england i never once had to have soldiers protecting the island.
does any other faction have the benefit of imortality? or am i just crazy and england gets invated 24/7
(btw im saying w/o any mods)

Spain seems to love Wales, they often land a stack there about the middle of the game. Danes have attacked York a few times, but generally the AI doesnt do many sea assaults on Britain
Since 1.2 I've noticed a lot of naval invasions of England, but they're usually by Spain or Portugal, and always at Caernarvon. :inquisitive: They're never very successful long term. I think to get more naval invasions in 1.2 CA set up a few specific routes that the AI will take to invade certain provinces. So Caernarvon or Cagliari will be invaded, but not London or Ajjacio.
I don't any other faction is as lucky in that regard as the two British ones, but I've noticed that Stockholm and Oslo are very rarely taken by the AI (other than Denmark). It takes Denmark a while to get to them, but once they do they never seem to get taken, even if Arhus falls.

You guys nailed it
Denmark will try to attack YORK,
and Portugal or Spain will go for Wales, and i've seen Portugal Take Dublin once or twice
It kinda makes it easy when you're playing as Scotland or England to secure the homefront, but its kind of bad because, i usually find upgrading any more than the city walls (to prevent rioting) is pointless.. because i'd rather spend money to upgrade castles and cities along my frontiers - or atleast where my troops can get to places via land and not boat.
Vanilla M2TW is terrible for naval battles, no matter what you do it seems that the enemy will always have an infinite amount of ships , totally lame - where do they get all that moneyyy?

Er, not what I'm experiencing in 1.2.
Just started a new H/VH campaign with France. I decided to migrate to Britain for a bit of a change.
I have so far been attacked by the Danes, repeatedly. And also the English keep sending armies over, even though we are now allies with "outstanding" relations. They don't actually attack they just sit there. Which gets old really fast.
Luckily that's what assassins and bribery are for

I'd guess that Britain only gets invades about 20% of the time, maybe less if the human player is England or Scotland. I think I even saw France try to invade once. I have only had the Portugese and Denmark try to invade me when I played as Scotland and England. It doesn't seem to happen any more frequently with the newer mods either.

Like others said the Ports sometimes invade Wales or Ireland. They usually get stuck on the coast and the city limits...kinda sux cuz you cant evict them and they just sit there eating w/e economy you have until you destroy/bribe them. Once the Spanish sent a 1/2 stack too but didnt attack anything.(I like to think of these small *invasions* as shipwrecks... why else would the Portugese wanna play around???) Generally speaking tho, its safe from invasions pretty much the whole game (over 200 turns) which makes Scots/English along with the Danes the eziest factions to begin with.

The Ports invading Wales seems to mostly annoy the Spanish, in my experience. Nothing like kicking them out of Iberia to discover that they've mysteriously migrated halfway up the map. I prefer it when they conquer something in France, at least then I can get to them fairly easily, wipe them out, and then buy some goodwill with my cheese-eating neighbors by donating the settlement to them.

Bloody Spain! leave Caernafon alone!!!! In my scotland campaign on vanilla, even when we are allies, they love wales. Portugal and Spain decided to take ou the HRE for me, and i took out them and france, and im at the gates of rome. Denmark have landed at york 8 times by my count, thee faction leaders tried it 4 times, with heirs the other 4!! whats the point denmark?
Amusing story: england effectively wiped themselves out, becaus they allied with me, france and denmark, then attacked us all in turn and the pope let us destroy england cos he excomuunicated them.. blissfully ironic

I also seem to get either Portugal or Spain taking Dublin and maybe Caernarvon and Rennes every game. Its usually Portugal, but Spain can beat them to it mybe 1/3 of the time. Denmark is the only other faction I've seen invade, they were at war with Scotland after the Scots took Oslo and Stockholm, and the Danes chased them back to Britain and took Inverness and Edinburgh.
After patch 1.2, Portugal, Spain, and Denmark all started invading the British Islands. Don't know if this continues in 1.3. Denmark in particular was aggressive, every ten turns or so I would half to fend-off a half stack of crazed vikings at Nottingham. As already stated, Spain and Portugal want Whales. Why is beyond me, perhaps CA's stab at the Spanish armada? Although the time frame is a couple of centuries too early.

I've only ever seen the Danes in the UK once, seems to usually be the Iberian teams.

The Danes always been much more trouble for me when playing as England or Scotland than the Portugese, Spanish, or French. This is especially true if they gain Antwerp. I think York must be on their "Hit List". Their early troops are powerful and the AI fields a decent mix, they have a good economy, they have powerful fleets. I think they should be a priority to destroy before the French or even before consolidating all of the British Isles. The Scots can counter the Portugese and Spanish jinetes with Border Horse (yay!) and the English can use longbowmen with Hobilars. But the Danes will recruit and use those cleric knights and crossbowmen from Arhus which when combined with those axmen make for a tough army which will be hard to defeat without taking serious losses. Once you take out the Danes the rest of the game will be a mop up action really (assuming you also have Hamburg and Stockholm).

well history or not...the british isles rarely invaded because there's nothing usefull about it anyway!! i mean even the romans dont go anymore farther, if you were able to take it you'll spend a lot putting up fleets for troop reinforcement and pacifying rebellions, so it makes sense does it... why bother conquering it when you have can have some beside you!
maybe just then maybe...

The british isles are rarely attacked, to the extent that I have found London with no armies inside it in three of my campaigns,
I got it:afro:

It's the country that remains free from foreign invasion for longer than any other on the planet. So it's only fitting.
I've seen Portugal conquer Caenarvon.

I once had an entire Portugese army on Caernarvon(Wales)'s doorstep. They're actually still there, because I called a ceasefire before they could attack and they can't move away. Every so often their Captain dies, rather myseriously....
