View Full Version : EB 1.1 for BI. Intro Videos and Berzerk

Its possible this belongs in the unofficial mods section, but enough people on this forum are playing on BI that I thought it might work here.

Conversion via the small changes for BI was fine. The only difficulties I've had are :

1. Intro Viedos aren't appearing. Anyone kn ow why this might be?

2. Have assigned a few units the capabilities of Berzerk and Warcry. (only Gaesatae, Tindanotae, and Germanic Wolf People so far). All this seems to do is cause to to spin in a circle and get slaughtered. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a fix?

Berserk wasn't very useful to begin with in Vanilla RTW: if you didn't watch your battle plan very very closely your berserk units would get slaughtered regardless... Now I imagine CA wasn't totally oblivious to this and added some catch to the units which were RTW Vanilla berserkers: namely a tweaked set of stats.

With EB being the way it is, no wonder you are seeing weird stuff when you slap attributes on units which are not designed for them.

About movies: you may have a lack of codecs; or your shortcut might have the -nm switch on the target line: the former means downloading; the latter means removing the -nm switch. (The -nm switch tells the game NOT to play in-game vids.)

I believe I DO have the -nm switch in my shortcut. will take this out! Thanks! Then knowledge of this forum is always incredible.

The berzerk thing makes me sad, but as well. I can always take it off. :)

What effect does warcry have in BI, anyway? Just increases attack?

warcry: no longer hardcoded to barbarians in BI. Gives the unit an attack bonus of 10. The ability takes 10 secs (unit can't move or execute other action) to be activated and remains active for 30 more seconds. If the unit enters melee at some point during that time, the bonus will be applied only for the remaining of those 30 seconds. (eg if the unit warcrys, then runs for 7 secs and then engages in melee, the bonus will be applied for 23 secs only). Also gives a momentary boost to morale, evident in the case of berserkers.:book:
