I half-suspect this of being a late April Fool's joke:

I'm not really sure how MTW can possibly translate to a little phone screen, so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out. :inquisitive:

That dreaded phrase "based on..." tends to suggest it will be something dumbed down and simplified to death, otherwise I don't see how it could possibly be done either :2cents:

Hmmm, I've seen Medieval 2: Total War when I was browsing the games on my phone, but I was not at all tempted to get it... But this couldn't be referring to that since it says it will be released in September. Makes me wonder if I should get it... probably not. :uneasy:

The one thing I noticed is the statement that the battle system will be turn-based. Assuming that's correct and not a typo, then I'm particularly curious as to how they'll pull that off. :inquisitive:

I almost came away from it thinking that were are just going to be looking at what is essentially a re-skinned Risk game but then I noticed it said it will have support for both the campaign map AND battle maps and now I'm a little confused. I know cell phones have definitely improved in recent years in over all processing power, but I can't quite grasp my head around what exaclty they are planning with this game...

This is what puzzles me as well. :dizzy2:

Well I got interested a few months ago in Age of Empires 3 for my cell phone, but it was rather crappy when I downloaded it.. :( So I think MTW2 on your mobile isn't that much of an interesting game on your mobile phone! ;)

Thanks! I've decided I've lurked long enough and went ahead and registered (something I probably should've done a while ago).

I doubt there will be any decent implementation of Medieval in a cell phone.. At most it will work out like the old "Centurion" (which back at it´s time it was pretty good, and the closest thing to a "Total War" game. But certainly not par with any of it´s modern offspring).
