View Full Version : 1.1 Unit sounds not working but music is?

I tried loading a game with KH, Arveni, Romani, and Pavlava and all the EB background music works properly (don't know where that is stored). However, the units are all using the vanilla *.wavs even though EB\Data\Sounds\ for Latin, Greek, Gallic, and Pavlava are all in there (Latin does not have a units subfolder though compared to all the others). Any ideas? Also, all UI seems to be in order except in 1.0 I remember seeing specific diplomat skins for certain factions but they all appeared to be the same in my loads (generic one).

Running the EB validation tool it tells me I have a corrupt install (I have twice downloaded it and twice installed and it gives me errors for the same files).

When I manually check these files 1 by 1 they do exist... I did not check everyone but kind of randomly selected a few files to look for and make sure they exist. A separate problem is it appears I am getting the vanilla quotes on my loading screens but the EB UI for the loading screens with the proper 1.1

eb/data/export_descr_sounds_stratmap_voice.txt is where I'm assuming the strat map *.wavs are played? I'm not sure but if it is mine contains paths to the original *.wavs from vanilla?

Perhaps there is a problem with upper/lower case in the file names, causing it to report them as missing... But they seem to indeed be missing, as they don't also show up as added. Then again, you truncated the log.

I'd try to install RTW afresh, I think. Perhaps you can post a screenshot of the folder where you have those missing files though, there might be a problem with the validation program of course.

Not all stratmap voices are replaced. Yet, at least. So that part is okay.

I don't remember in my Greek campaigns clicking on a unit and them saying "YES SIR!" in 1.0 or 0.8 for that matter but maybe I'm just going crazy and haven't played EB in long enough. :yes:

They usually didn't say 'Yes sir' - instead they'd have some high, pitched voice something akin to 'Praaiiissee Ehreees!' 'Glohriooous Victhoohreee!'

No, for next releases we hope to replace the funny accent with our take on the sentences, in 'ancient Greek'.
