I installed Eb today and received this message after selecting "Play Single Player."

Execution of command 'RomeTW.exe -mod:eb -show_error' failed (error 2: the system cannot find the file specified.)

Check if your "Play Single Player" shortcut is directed to the correct location of your RomeTW.exe.

Have you move RTW after installing EB?

Check out Start In option of Shortcut. Make sure it points to RTW directory.

Have you actually installed EB in the right location? Because it smells like Common Mistake No 1: despite everything, you installed EB not in the root directory of RTW.

Well, I had very similar thing with "preferences", but the reported error was "error 3" => there was neither preferences.txt nor Eb/preferences folder, there was only preferences.xml file.

And YES, I've installed EB in the right location.
However, should I install the Trivial script also in same folder as EB, or not?

This is normal. If you try to configure Preferences before you start EB for the first time you will always get this error.

Why?
Because preferences.txt file is generated by RTW depending on your computer hardware. Because of this its not present in EB installation.
After you start EB for the first time RTW will generate preferences.txt file that you can change.
