View Full Version : What do the Eleutheroi do with money?

It might seem like an obvious question, but I'm not so sure it's that clear. I've been giving the Eleutheroi 150,000-200,000 mnai a turn in my game, in the hopes it will slow AI expansion by causing the slave faction to recruit more troops and increase their garrisons. Only they don't seem to be doing that.

Are they spending it on development? Or just hoarding the money?

I think they spend some 150000 per turn in upkeep. Whatever is left, will go into upgrading some infrastructure and recruiting troops in some settlements. This is why we give them a fat load of cash every 4 turns and keep them tight in the meantime, so that they will spread the love a bit.

So if I want them building their garrisons, I need to be giving them a lot more money than 150k a turn?

I believe so, yes. We give them a somewhat random assistance, at the most 500000 but usually about 100000-350000.

When we gave 100000-200000 each turn, they tended to spam cheap troops in certain settlements.

I'll see what 250k a turn does for a while. Cheers, bovi!
