Hello. I love modding, this is my favorite thing in games, actually. I want to create a mod over the total war engine. I'll explain later what my idea is about and we (if there is anybody else besides me who is interested) can discuss it and change it. But anyway, i want o know if there is anyone here who is idle or not working much and wants to engage this project. We can start with a small team. I can model in 3d and texturize, so i just need someone that knows how to change game files and etc. As more the merrier. Is there anyone else interested in helping me? You can post a reply or e-mail me and as soon as we are a team we can start talking about the project.
I dont want to ruin the surprise of what is this all about, but its something i've never seen a mod about...And wich is a good idea, i think.
anyway. please some responds! It's not good to want to mod a game and having no one that can help you with that.

some images to give an ideia what i'm talking about:
shields of the 17 playable factions (except two i'm still working on)

So you're not releasing any info about the mod, but you want people to help you mod it as a team? Well, ok... whatever helps you achieve your goal. Actually, I'd love to help you with this, the factions look very interesting. Perhaps, a medieval-fantasy? The map has some Caribbean-Pirate-y feel to it. :2thumbsup:
The thing is, I'm can't mod M2TW in the slightest... I've tried, not much, but I have tried. I can mod RTW and MTW fairly well, but when it comes to M2TW, all the tools you need just to convert say export_unit.txt into something you can read is well... it's just too much. :shame:
Well, for me anyway. ;)

Here some units concepts:
Aramon, wich makes use of heavy and expesnive troops, but have very few spears options and the earlier troops lack quality and discipline:

Falcons Republic:
Using a new kind of army, the republicans make use of very light infantry, but in larger numbers. Their lack of armor make the vunerable to arrows, but their units are able to make quick attacks, and even most of infantry can chase down archers:

Okyoto:
Okyoto is a traditional kingdom. The land of the best disciplined warriors, the samurais. Mounted, on foot, with a bow or even horseriding, this elite can be very usefull for both attack and deffense. Their also make use of modern gunpowder warfare in the later period, but their weakness in the lack of good equipament for the lower soldiers

i shall post more news eventually
Sure! Nobody at all really is responding to my request for Texture/Model assistance, so this could be a wonderful opportunity to get the mod experience I need. I have dedicated a couple weeks to deciphering how it all fits together, and Im making some progress. I would love to join this, it looks like an interesting undertaking. Take a look at my thread:
-Medieval2 Total War: expanded edition
The second entry is more or less what I think I can do. Edit unit files, and I stumbled upon how the ModelDB file is structured, so with some more toying around I think that shouldn't be anything big.
But yeah, send me a PM of what you have in mind or what you would like to keep from my thread.
