Did the install with a clean 1.5 RTW. Started a campaign, played a few turns then saved it. Tried to start a new campaign today but the game freezes on the screen where you pick your faction and push the start button.
Any thoughts?
As a foot note, I can load and play the saved game, but I cannot start a different campaign with out it locking up.

How long did it freeze for? (Don't trust windows taskmanager on whether it's not responding.)
You've tried to restart your computer, and installed RTW/EB outside of Program Files? Also, run the validation to see what could be different.

I did a restart, also it is in a different directory. The validation tool only gives me a blank page. I am going to assume I installed it wrong and try a reinstall.
Please read the output of the validation (in the "black" DOS window). It likely tells you something is wrong. You may post it here, by the way.

I am going to assume I am doing something wrong, did a wipe and reinstalled but it is not allowing me to start a campaign. The validation tool is just giving me a blank text doc. Too many drugs in the 70's I guess. :surrender2:
I still have a copy of the previous mod and it worked. I will go back to that. Thanks all for your imputs.
When you run the validation, there is a black window running it before it comes up with the blank text document. I want the output in that window.

You rock, oldman. :balloon2:
I am not getting a dos window.
:inquisitive: That sounds odd... How are you running the validation anyway? You're double-clicking validateInstall.bat, right? Could you try to run it in a DOS window in the first place? To do that:
* Press Windows+R on your keyboard (or click start and select run).
* Type cmd in the box and press enter.
* Change directory to the RTW installation wherever you have EB installed by typing cd <path/to/RTW>, for instance cd c:\games\RomeEB. Press enter.
* Type validateinstall and press enter. Please copy the output and paste it here (if it says to type in something or press any key, of course do that so it proceeds).

Feels like map.rwm to me. Don't know why.
Not a bad idea... Try to run the game, then delete map.rwm (alt-tab out) and finally try to start a campaign.

barabinni gets the gold star, something must have been wrong with the map. Works like a champ. Just won't try the Saka again ;)
Thanks much for all your help Bovi.
Barabinni's star. :medievalcheers:
